Statistically, new drivers are most likely to have an accident within the first two years of driving independently due to lack of experience.
PASS PLUS is not another test but an additional six hours (minimum) of tuition and experience that builds on the basic level of knowledge and skill required to pass your test.
The course can be done at any time but is highly recommended, and most beneficial if undertaken within the first twelve months of passing your test.
On completion of the course you will be issued with a Pass Plus Certificate by the DSA.
This can in some cases get you a small discount off your insurance and is definitely worth mentioning when looking for quotes.
The cost of the complete course is £150.00.
In the interests of road safety, Rutland County Council is currently continuing to sponsor our young drivers to undertake the Pass Plus Course after passing their test.
